Marvel Studios is reportedly planning to bring back Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle in a new The Punisher series on Disney+. This comes after his confirmed return in Daredevil: Born Again, with rumors suggesting that the upcoming series will act as a continuation of the Netflix show, effectively serving as a third season.

Jon Bernthal is expected to reprise his role as Frank Castle in a new Disney+ series following Daredevil: Born Again. This comes as a rumor shared on the Patreon of insider Daniel Richtman (Daniel RPK). However, the story has been corroborated by two other insiders.

But most importantly, these scoops have come in more than a year after @MyTimeToShineHello (MTTSH) initially reported in May 2023 that a Punisher series would follow Daredevil: Born Again.

Marvel Studios confirmed Jon Bernthal’s return as the Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again, which premieres on March 4, 2025. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Streaming, said, “There’s absolutely a future for him in the MCU afterward.” He also emphasized Marvel’s intention to continue Frank Castle’s story beyond his appearance in the upcoming series.
Netflix aired the original Punisher series for two seasons, garnering positive reviews. However, the storyline shifted focus toward conspiracies about Frank Castle’s family, diverging from the comics’ core themes.
