WWE had great plans for Jacob Fatu. This was evident from his recent United States title run early on in his professional wrestling career, but his future, given his recent injury situation, remains uncertain.
The Samoan Werewolf was last seen in WWE programming during the October 17, 2025, edition of Friday Night SmackDown (via WWE), where he was poised to face Drew McIntyre in a number-one contender’s match for the WWE Championship.
However, he was unable to participate in the clash due to a backstage attack on him. Fans last saw him with blood coming out of his mouth.

WWE has not given any update on the injury situation of Jacob Fatu. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio has discussed the recent situation involving Jacob before his scheduled appearance at Survivor Series 2025. Meltzer shared:
Even though [CM] Punk did this thing about kind of knocking Roman Reigns, I mean my gut is that still the plan is Punk, Roman Reigns, The Usos on that team with probably LA Knight is the other guy, cause Jacob was supposed to be in it. I mean, it could be Jacob if he’s okay to wrestle, but he’s just had his surgery. So, I don’t know if he’s going to be okay by the end of the month.
With this, it’s now speculated that Fatu will not return to WWE programming anytime soon, as WWE pivots its programming towards other dynamics.
A turning point in Jacob Fatu’s 2025 reign as WWE United States Champion combined emotional storytelling with physical prowess. At WrestleMania 41, he defeated LA Knight for the title, which immediately improved his standing on the main roster.
A bitter rivalry between Fatu and Solo Sikoa, a former Bloodline ally, characterized his championship run. This feud grew more intense after Fatu betrayed Sikoa in the 2025 Money in the Bank ladder match.
Their rivalry culminated at Night of Champions 2025, where Sikoa, backed by MFT members, defeated Fatu to reclaim the title. The loss was followed by a mysterious backstage attack that wrote Fatu off television, reportedly due to a real-life injury.

While Jacob Fatu’s United States Championship reign was short-lived, the company’s creative plans had long-term goals for Jacob Fatu. This includes the next major PLE event as part of WWE programming: Survivor Series 2025.
WWE reportedly had major creative plans for Jacob Fatu at Survivor Series 2025, positioning him as a key member of the babyface team in the Men’s WarGames match. Still, those plans were derailed due to injury.

Fatu was initially scheduled to compete in a high-stakes WarGames match against the heel faction known as The Vision, which is led by Brock Lesnar, Austin Theory, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, alongside CM Punk, Jey Uso, and either LA Knight or Jimmy Uso.
But after a violent backstage scene that showed him bleeding and unconscious, an angle meant to conceal a real-life dental procedure, Fatu was written off television. Due to his absence, WWE had to change its plans for Survivor Series, including rescheduling the Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre match from Survivor Series to Saturday Night’s Main Event.
With this, it remains unclear whether the company plans to position him for future WWE storylines as it had previously. The future for the Samoan Werewolf, thus, remains uncertain.
