Will Record of Ragnarok return with Season 4? Well, that is the million-dollar question on everyone’s mind right after Season 3’s end. And honestly, with how wild the last few fights have been, it’s impossible not to crave another round of gods vs. legends.
Netflix hasn’t announced anything yet. But judging by the manga, the anime’s hype, and how Season 3 left us on that massive cliffhanger, there are all signs pointing toward a fourth season. So yeah, there’s definitely hope, just like humanity in the arena.
Record of Ragnarok Season 4’s Renewal Status Explained
Let’s cut to the chase – Season 4 isn’t officially confirmed yet, but don’t freak out. Netflix usually waits a bit after new seasons drop before announcing renewals, and Season 3 was just released.
The anime is based on a hit manga by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, with loads of battles still left to be animated. Moreover, the story isn’t at its final arc, the fanbase is still on the rise, and Netflix loves a successful anime.
So even if there’s not a greenlight yet, logically speaking, all the signs point to basically an inevitable Season 4. Now, the timeline matters because the wait between seasons has not been short. Fans waited about 19 months between Season 1 and 2, then nearly 29 months to get Season 3.
So based on that timeline, Season 4 likely won’t drop until 2027. Yeah, that really sucks. However, considering how crucial the next battles are, the studio needs time for them to look as awesome as they deserve. The sooner Netflix confirms production, the sooner the wait officially begins.
Where the Story Stands After Record of Ragnarok Season 3

If you somehow forget how wild the past battles got, here’s a quick look at it – after nine rounds, the gods are clinging to a 5-4 lead. Thor defeated Lu Bu, Zeus got Adam, and Apollo just defeated King Leonidas. However, humanity answers back with legends like Kojiro Sasaki, Jack the Ripper, Buddha, and Qin Shi Huang.
Meanwhile, Tesla showed up with sci-fi swagger, then got taken down by Beelzebub, leaving the scoreline very, very tight. The tournament is not over and neither is the story. There are more rounds to fight – and Netflix isn’t skipping those fights, trust us.

Season 4 would pick up from Round 10 onwards, and these matchups are just too hype for any studio to ignore. Round 10 pairs humanity’s deadliest swordsman, Soji Okita, against the storm-swinging “Sword God” Susanoo. This one is pure swordsmanship chaos begging to be animated.
Round 11 covers the long-range chaos as legendary sniper Simo Häyhä finally faces off with the unpredictable trickster Loki. Round 12? That’s Sakata Kintoki, the demon-slaying icon of Japanese folklore, vs. Odin. If this match-up does not scream “Season 4 is happening,” nothing does.
In the end, Season 3 wraps up at a score of 5-4, with the tournament still far from over. Season 4 would take the series into the next explosive phase and animate some of the most iconic fights of the manga.
So yeah, unless the gods pull a surprise vote, Season 4 is all but guaranteed. Now we just wait for Netflix to make it official and pray to speed up production.
