Overwatch isn’t exactly known for its collaborations. In fact, it is relatively more gatekept than other hero-shooters in the gaming space, but that all might just change soon. The Fortnite X Overwatch crossover is seemingly here, or so a brand-new gameplay trailer may have just signalled.
Sharp-eyed fans have spotted what appear to be iconic Overwatch locations hidden inside an official Fortnite gameplay trailer, and that, combined with the rumored cosmetics so far, gives us the opportunity to examine what this crossover could mean for both games.

The speculation stems from the release of Fortnite’s Rivalry Umbrella teaser trailer. Within hours of it going live, known Fortnite leakers, including ShiinaBR, flagged something interesting: two brand-new POIs visible in the trailer that have a striking resemblance to classic Overwatch maps.
The first is a traditional Japanese building, a setting that fans will instantly recognise as Hanamura. It is one of the franchise’s most iconic and beloved maps, serving as the home of the Shimada clan. Given that Genji is one of the rumored heroes reportedly arriving in the crossover, a Hanamura-inspired POI dropping would make complete sense.
The second new POI is a little more ambiguous, as it features a tall, modern building, a layout that closely resembles Watchpoint: Gibraltar, one of the game’s original escort maps, and a key base of operations for the game’s heroic faction.
It is important to note that this is pure speculation so far, and no Fortnite X Overwatch POIs have been officially announced so far. However, if confirmed, this would be one of the more significant collaborations Epic Games has ever had with another video game franchise.

Is it the first time we have heard of an Overwatch collaboration? Actually, no. The latest trailer discovery lands on top of months of leaks that have been building the case for this crossover since early 2026. This was backed by both ShiinaBR and Hypex, two of the most renowned dataminers present in the scene.
GENJI, MERCY, TRACER & DVA ARE *CONFIRMED* COMING TO FORTNITE SOONOverwatch collab is now confirmed – VIA @SamLeakss pic.twitter.com/l2ixEHzbOt— HYPEX (@HYPEX) April 28, 2026
On the skin’s front, four heroes from Blizzard’s game have been consistently named across multiple leaks: Tracer, Genji, Mercy, and D.Va. Out of these, Tracer is the obvious one, given that she has been the face of the game since its launch in 2016, along with the fact that her ability kit is naturally fit for cosmetic potential.
What’s more? Well, along with the highly likely Fortnite collaboration, if leaks are to be believed, Overwatch is also arriving in Rocket League (via ShiinaBR), with there being vehicle skins based on D.Va, Tracer, and Genji.
