Helldivers, it’s time to celebrate as the holiday season has finally arrived in Helldivers 2 with the Festival of Reckoning event! Not only can you throw around snowballs, but you can also spread managed democracy with three Experimental Stratagems.

As we’ve already said before, Helldivers 2 Festival of Reckoning brings three new Experimental Stratagems: 120MM EMS Projectile with Stun, Gatling Barrage Fire Projectiles, and Walking Barrage with Smoke. Let’s take a look at each of them individually –
1. 120MM EMS Projectile with Stun
First on the list is the 120MM Projectile with Stun. It’s basically like your standard 120mm barrage, but the twist here is the addition of the electromagnetic pulse effect, which means your enemies will be stunned. This one in particular will work great against Automatons as you’ll be able to disable Detector Towers, Command Bunkers, and Anti-Air Emplacements while still getting crowd control against bot units.
2. Gatling Barrage Fire Projectile
This Experimental Stratagem switches out the Gatling Barrage ammo in favor of incendiary rounds. So, when these shells strike the ground, you’ll watch the entire area go up in flames. We already know that Incendiary damage is deadly in Helldivers 2 because it burns enemies over time. This means this Stratagem will work great against Terminids, especially things like Warriors. Any bug horde won’t stand a chance once you deploy this thing.
3. Walking Barrage with Smoke
The Walking Barrage with Smoke kills two birds with one stone. You get devastating, explosive damage over a wide area while also deploying a smoke screen. This means you’ll have an easier time taking out things like Terminid Nests and Automaton Fortresses, as you’ll also have a cover to retreat if things go south. You can even use it during extraction if you’re being overwhelmed by hordes.
It’s important to keep in mind that these Stratagems will be available for absolutely free for all players! This means you won’t have to purchase any of the Premium Warbonds. The Stratagems will also be available in waves, and you’ll be notified which of them is available for temporary use.
Helldivers 2 Has a Holiday Major Order

Of course, Arrowhead Game Studios won’t give us these Experimental Stratagems if there wasn’t a reason to use them! We have a brand-new Major Order right alongside the Festival of Reckoning event. All Helldivers are expected to do whatever it takes to liberate more planets during the event, which runs until December 31, 2025, at 2:59 PM PST.
So, every time you liberate more planets, Super Earth will gain an edge over its enemies. Of course, if you fail or can’t deliver, each loss will lead to something called “Patriotic VAT Surcharge” to cover the losses. So, go out there and save as many planets as you can. You’ll also be getting 100 Medals by completing the major order.
This isn’t the end of the line. Since it’s the festive season, you surely expect to see more Major Orders coming your way.
