Crafting throughout is easily the biggest part of Subnautica 2. Unfortunately, it can turn out to be a bit of a challenge, often, especially when you are asked to source materials you might have no idea about. The recipe of Enameled Glass is one such example, a material used in essential recipes such as the Depth Module Mk. 1 upgrade for the Tadpole, and itself is crafted using 1x glass and 1x Creature Enamel.
Sourcing glass is the easy part. However, getting Creature Enamel is where it starts to get tricky. In this guide, you’ll learn exactly what Enameled Glass is, and where to find the Creature Enamel material used to craft it.

Enameled Glass can be crafted at any Fabricator under the Basic Materials section. The recipe calls for just two ingredients:
1x Glass
1x Creature Enamel
As mentioned before, getting Glass is the easier one out of the two. You can craft it early in the game by getting your hands on Quartz, which is scattered all around your Lifepod and the in-game world in general across shallow seabeds and cave entrances. Use the collected Quartz to convert it into glass at a Fabricator.
However, getting Creature Enamel is where things get more interesting. This is the rare resource that you won’t find anywhere near your starting area, and to get it, you will need to travel approximately 1,300 meters east of your Lifepod to a region called the Alien Ruins. The general coordinates of the area are right about -204189, 446573, -2130.
You should be able to recognise the deposits by looking for white bone-like spikes sticking out of dark lumps of rock. The best part? Each of these gives a couple of Creature Enamel at once, meaning you won’t have to farm much before you are good to go. There will also be hostile creatures in the area, including Needler Mango, so be wary of them too.

What Enameled Glass is Used For in Subnautica 2

Finally, unlocking Enameled Glass means you can now finally start utilising it for the many blueprints that use it. The most important upgrade, however, is the Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1, an upgrade that is used to enable how deep your submersible can operate, extending its range from 250 meters to 450 meters.
Enameled Glass is also used in crafting other major upgrades, including the Strike Armor Module for your Tadpole, or even the Feedback Resonator, which is an upgraded version of the Sonic Resonator used to break through reinforced Bloom Cankers from a distance.
Creature Enamel is a relatively rare resource and is found at a considerable distance from your spawn area, which means you should plan your run around grabbing quite a few each time you are around the Alien Ruins area to make sure you never run out.
