Netflix’s new period drama House of Guinness is coming this Fall, the latest project from the creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight. The series explores the legacy of the Guinness family and their famous brewery, following the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness.
Netflix released the first look image of the series on August 18, where the audience gets a glimpse of the titular family working to live up to the right of black gold. Set in the 1860s, House of Guinness opens in the wake of Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death, the man responsible for transforming the Guinness brewery into an international powerhouse. His four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, inherit the empire and are forced to manage it together.
Before his passing, Sir Benjamin set up a joint stewardship between Arthur and Edward, forcing the two brothers to work together to maintain control of the business. This decision creates power struggles within the family as they each try to carve out their own place in the business world. Creator Steven Knight told Tudum,
