Gojo Satoru’s Potential Turn to Antagonism in Jujutsu Kaisen
Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo were close friends and powerful sorcerers. They worked together on a mission to protect a girl named Riko Amanai from a dangerous organization. Their goal was to take her to Tengen because she was an important figure known as a star plasma vessel.
During their time protecting Riko, they faced a hired assassin, Toji Zenin. Toji defeated Gojo and tragically harmed Riko. Gojo, however, survived due to his special powers and defeated Toji, becoming even more powerful.

After Riko’s death, Gojo retrieves her body while surrounded by members of the cult who are happy about her demise. This distresses Gojo and Geto, and Gojo suggests eliminating everyone present, but Geto refuses. Eventually, they both decide to leave the area.
At that time, everyone perceived Geto as the good guy protecting all the normal people, but the situation was far from simple. The story takes a dramatic turn after that moment, leading Geto to adopt Gojo’s path to eliminate all the people.

Geto’s Shift from Protector to Adversary in Jujutsu Kaisen
The story became complicated because Geto’s mind became disturbed. Humans are celebrating the death of an innocent girl. Additionally, Tengen found a way for the girl, Riko, to live without needing young girls to die.
Geto said that dealing with curses is like consuming something extremely unpleasant, and he couldn’t save Riko, causing mental distress. This marked the beginning of the changes in Geto’s mind towards becoming a villain.

During a mission to stop a curse from harming a village, Geto discovered that the villagers had imprisoned two sorcerer girls, blaming them for the curse’s effects.
Seeing the cruelty of the non-sorcerer villagers, Geto killed 112 of them, released the girls, and transformed into an evil curse user. He also went as far as killing his own parents to prove his point.
