If you haven’t been keeping up with the Fallout series, the ending of Season 2 has revealed that the Ghoul is making his way to Colorado, which means it’s going to be one of the newer locations explored in Fallout Season 3. However, this won’t be the first time Colorado will appear in the Fallout verse.
Die-hard fans will remember this is the same place that was featured in Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, a game which led to its developer’s downfall.

Right at the very end of Fallout Season 2, we see The Ghoul finally opening up Barb’s cryo-chamber. Now, she wasn’t found inside, but what The Ghoul found was a postcard that read “Colorado was a good idea”. Once he saw this, he immediately set off to the place in hopes of finally finding his family.
Now, of course, The Ghoul won’t head to Colorado without dealing with shenanigans at other locations. However, what makes this interesting is the show creators’ choice of setting, as Colorado hasn’t been explored much in the Fallout verse. The last time we saw its full-fledged appearance was back in Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.
For those who don’t know, Fallout Tactics was a tactical RPG that came from developer Micro Forte. This was quite a different game compared to the the modern day Fallouts. However, according to the game’s lead designer, Ed Orman (via PCGamer), it didn’t sell well, which led to its sequel being canceled. The developer had to go through “awful” layoffs and other troubles.
“Emotionally, it sucks,” Orman says. “From a business sense, it’s really bad business. If there is any way you can maintain those teams, they will generate more for you, because they have this bond already and this experience together.
It’s sad to see what Micro Forte had to go through after the release of Fallout Tactics. However, let’s just hope that Fallout Season 3 can finally do some justice to Colorado and establish the location among the newer generation of fans.
What’s Next For the Fallout Series?

Of course, the biggest highlight for the post-apocalyptic series right now is Fallout Season 3. Not only are we going to Colorado, but the post-credits scene has also hinted at the blueprints for Liberty Prime. If you don’t know, this is a fan-favorite robot that was introduced to us back in Fallout 3.
It’s fair to say that Fallout Season 3 is going to be an absolute banger with all these additions from the games. Even though the show follows a very different timeline compared to Bethesda titles, it’s still popular because it truly does justice to the Fallout verse, and doesn’t try to deviate from the core aspect of the series.
However, those who are still waiting for Fallout 5, it might be a better idea not to raise your expectations, as we won’t hear anything about the game until the 2030s. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any new games. We’ve heard that remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas are also in the works.
