Fallout has returned with Season 2, and there’s a lot of fan service involved around this time. Apart from the fictional post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, fans of New Vegas might find more familiarity with the setting, despite being an original take on the franchise.
Now, there’s only one episode out right now, but seasoned fans might find a lot of things every day that are different from the original. With that said, here’s every New Vegas reference made in Fallout Season 2 episode one.
1. Novac

Novac is a key location in Fallout: New Vegas that technically lies on Route 66 and has made it into the show. The iconic ‘No Vacancy’ signboard on the exterior is a dead giveaway that our protagonists made it into the place we love and adore.
The show even featured iconic characters like Jeannie May Crawford, who happens to run the motel, while in-game, she was selling potential companion Boone’s wife to the Legion. If you pay close attention, you’ll also find that The Courier from the game also managed to get a permanent stay at the motel.
2. Dinky the Dinosaur

Of course, the ‘No Vacancy’ sign isn’t all that makes Novac the place we adore, because Dinky the Dinosaur made it into the show as well. Maybe the huge dinosaur holding the motel sign isn’t accurate like the game, but it sure accomplishes the purpose it was meant for.
However, Dinky’s showcase isn’t just visual, as we can see Lucy holding her spot inside the dinosaur statue’s mouth, the same place where Boone would watch over Novac. It’s sweet easter to see in action rather than some random dialogue drop.
3. The Great Khans

In Fallout: New Vegas, the Great Khans are easily recognizable for their distinctive blend of Native American and biker gang aesthetics. Gladly enough, they made it into Season 2 of the live-action series as well.
They may not be portrayed the same as in-game, but if you notice the flag carried by the biker gang, you’ll see that it is accurate to the game. It’s a soft easter egg only hardcore fans could notice.
4. Marty Robbins’ Big Iron

The battle against the Great Khans has to be the most eyecatching, gore-filled battle in the show, and Marty Robbin’ Big Iron is simply fitting. The song also happens to be from Fallout: New Vegas. If you are an avid fan of radio songs from the game, you’ll quickly find yourself singing along as well.
Moreover, the song is all about an Arizona Ranger gunslinging against ruthless outlaws, which makes it iconic in the show. Because the song runs parallel to Lucy and the Ghoul taking down the Great Khans, who happen to be a group of outlaws.
5. Vault 24

This Easter egg can be observed by the tech-savvy fanbase, as the mentions of the vault existing only lie within the code itself. There are assets for the Vault 24 jumpsuit in Fallout: New Vegas, but it was never included in the game due to limitations imposed on Obsidian at the time.
In the show, we finally get to learn more about Vault 24 as The Ghoul and Lucy investigate the matter. Turns out, it’s actually a Vault dedicated to Vault-Tec’s brainwashing plans, which unsurprisingly went very wrong. This could have been a great quest in the game, but we should be glad we got our curiosity scratched.
6. Town of Pimm

If you stick around long enough to watch the closing credits, you can see a town with a noteworthy rollercoaster. This is one of the towns, other than the town of Pimm, from Fallout: New Vegas, which happens to be one of the first in-game locations.
The location is pretty iconic to New Vegas fans because that place technically marks the beginning of our journey with a simple choice: picking the Sheriff for the town. It’s good to see “poor man’s Vegas” in the show, and hopefully, we’ll find more.
