Michael B. Jordan has weighed in on Creed‘s future after delivering one of the biggest original hits with Sinners. Although he confirmed Creed 4 will eventually materialize, moving forward, he won’t be the lone focus of the franchise, starting with the upcoming Amazon spin-off, set to feature Adonis’ daughter, Amara, at the forefront (via Variety).
We’re spinning off doing Adonis’s daughter, Amara’s story, the television show that’s picked up at Amazon. So you’ll be seeing different parts of the Creed-verse, I like to call it. These little IPs are going to keep the universe alive without it being completely reliant on just me to push it through the finish line every time as a boxer. I’ll be adjacent.
Although he isn’t too thrilled about stepping back in the ring 15 years down the line, he’s confident there’s still something more to Adonis’ story, which fans can expect to witness in the eventual follow-up to the threequel.
Will Jonathan Majors Make a Comeback in Michael B. Jordan’s Creed 4?
With Jordan confirming the next entry in the series, the biggest question remains whether Jonathan Majors’ Damian Anderson, one of the biggest highlights of the threequel, will return or not.
What makes Majors’ case so messy, despite his character being integral to Adonis’ growth, is the legal ramifications that he had to sustain after being convicted of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment.
Although one would assume he’d likely be dropped moving forward, what makes his case complicated is Jordan’s past comment. Reflecting on the controversies that plagued Majors’ career, the Sinners star previously expressed support for the actor, adding:
But he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.
Whether Jordan will welcome Majors back into the mainstream circle through the Creed series remains to be seen. For now, fans will anticipate the upcoming spin-off, featuring Amara, played by deaf actor Mila Davis-Kent in Creed 3.
