Doctor Doom will have his own army when dealing with the combined forces of the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four, with his right-hand man reportedly being a former member of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Last week, scooper Daniel Richtman shared that Doctor Doom’s right-hand man in Avengers: Doomsday would be a “wizard” who uses a sling ring. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a sling ring is used by sorcerers to create an Inter-Dimensional Portal to another location, or in some cases, another dimension. When this information was shared, fans’ minds jumped to the possibility of Doctor Strange working for Doom in the Avengers movie, a theory that has now seemingly been confirmed.
Which popular MCU hero may be Doctor Doom’s sidekick in Avengers: Doomsday?
In his latest Patreon post, Richtman doled out a new piece of information about Doom’s right-hand man, revealing, “He wears a mask similar to Doom’s, but with a slot for a third eye on his forehead.” Considering that Doctor Strange gained a third eye at the end of 2022’s Multiverse of Madness as a result of using the Darkhold, this further strengthens the idea that Strange will be working for Doom in Doomsday.
Scooper MAJESTIC_ucm has also backed up Richtman’s report on X by just straight out saying that it is the Earth-616 (a.k.a. the main MCU) Doctor Strange who will be Doom’s right-hand man. The scooper also stated that Wanda from Earth-616, Clea, a shapeshifter (who takes the form of Peggy), and Master Hulk will round out Doom’s “five powerful followers.”

At the time of writing, neither Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Charlize Theron, Hayley Atwell, nor Mark Ruffalo — who respectively portray Strange, Wanda, Clea, Peggy, and Hulk — has been confirmed by Marvel Studios to be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. However, since Marvel is known for its secrecy, it’s entirely possible that the five actors are part of Doomsday and the studio is simply trying to keep their involvement under wraps.
All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
