In 2020, myself and many others were hyped for CD Project Red’s newest upcoming release, the awesome looking edgy first person shooter RPG Cyberpunk 2077. It made a lot of promises in terms of its environment, gun play, choices, and wild customization. Then, it came out. It wasn’t a game, it was an embarrassing interactive mess of patience and understanding, especially if you had planned to play it on PS4 or Xbox One. Instead of smiling at a thoughtful Christmas present from my confused wife, I grimaced, and told her I look forward to playing it; and I did whenever it became playable.

For those who quickly returned their copy of Cyberpunk, or destroyed it in some well-placed but poorly managed frustration and never gave it another thought, I have some news for you. The game has been very playable for awhile now, at least if you are on a current-generation console or PC. Not only is it playable, it’s actually a good time, even with its remaining flaws. And a lot of the gameplay, story, and unique character builds, are pretty darn swell.

Now Cyberpunk 2077 is only a few weeks away from its final update, leaving the game to remain as a slowly developed masterpiece, or the saving grace of a dumpster fire, depending how you see it. The update releases on Sept 26 in somewhat two tiers. The first is Cyberpunk 2.0 a free update that adds more features and items for everyone who still enjoys the game.
