Chelsea’s legend, Gustavo Poyet has warned the club against bringing in Victor Osimhen when the January transfer window opens.

The forward player has been on the radar of some of the top European clubs in the past but Chelsea seem to be one of the top clubs interested in signing the Nigerian. Poyet was speaking in an interview where he advised that the London club should not disrupt their current plan by bringing in Victor Osimhen.

What did Poyet say about Victor Osimhen?

Guus Poyet said in his statement that Chelsea should be careful before they make any major investment in a striker.

“Seeing how the team is performing now, will I bring someone who may unsettle the team? No. So you need to find the right player, the right character. More importantly, the right character that if he’s coming, he’s going to help and he’s going to improve the team and the competition. You [don’t want] someone who is going come and they’re going to mess everything around, you know? I think right now maybe going the whole season with the quantity of players that Chelsea go with. They have enough and [let]s see how they finish, then maybe in the summer is a different matter but, in January, I’m not so sure, but again it’s a question for Maresca.”

Victor Osimhen has been fantastic since he moved to Turkey, scoring 8 goals in 10 games for Galatasaray. However it is yet to be seen if Chelsea will decide to bid for Osimhen in January or wait for the next summer transfer window.
