According to new details about Ben Affleck’s canceled Batman movie, Mr. Freeze was set to be the villain. Affleck, who played the Dark Knight in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, was set to star in his solo movie, named by fans as Batfleck, which was announced in 2015. However, it was later scrapped after he dropped out as the director.

Recently, an illustrator named Skyler Pinkerton shared details about the canceled Batfleck.

Pinkerton disclosed the information about Ben Affleck’s scrapped Batman feature while replying to a fan on Instagram. The screenshot of the interaction was then uploaded to Reddit.

The veteran artist revealed that he worked on a lot of previsualization content for the movie, which was planned to go into filming in 2017. He stated, “It happened, and was a dream driving onto the WB lot every morning just to work on Batman (the Mr. Freeze scenes were my favorite).”

Skyler Pinkerton also stated that, apart from Mr. Freeze and Deathstroke, the movie was on track to feature more Batman villains. He added that Mr. Freeze had “a very small part, but SO good. Some people have already come out and talked about it (like Bob Richardson, the DP), so I feel I can at least echo what he said, which was it was heavily involved with Arkham Asylum, so there was going to be a bunch of villains popping in, but the Mr. Freeze bits were more than a cameo. And it was beautiful and haunting.”

Moreover, according to Variety, Ben Affleck left the director’s job on the Batman movie, but assured that he would help recruit someone else. He said in a statement that it was hard for him to perform both jobs with equal dedication.

Affleck added, “I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.” However, the movie didn’t happen. While speaking to GQ in March last year, Affleck also called the movie a “really bad recipe.”
