Battlefield 6’s Season 3 is going out with a bang! The High-Value Target update is adding a limited-time Wet Work event. This basically turns every match into a contract board.
Battlefield 6’s newest event mechanics are clearly inspired by Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Field Orders. It’s a twist aimed squarely at players who like having something extra to chase mid‑match beyond the scoreboard.

Wet Work is part of Season 3’s final phase, arriving with the High-Value Target update before Season 4 rolls around in July. This is a limited-time event across both core multiplayer and the free‑to‑play Redsec mode.
The hook is pretty simple. When a player is eliminated, they drop a Contract on death. Anyone can pick up that Contract, which instantly spawns a mid-match objective for the holder. These objectives can be things like:
Eliminating specific enemies or players
Destroying vehicles or dealing a set amount of damage
Capturing/securing objectives
Surviving for a set duration (especially in Redsec’s battle‑royale variant)
So, everybody on the ground is potential side content. Instead of just farming kills, you’re constantly making risk/reward calls. You can grab the Contract and play for bonus progress, or leave it and stay focused on the main mode rules.

If the entire setup sounds familiar to older shooter fans, that’s intentional! Wet Work is directly channeling Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Field Orders. COD gave a briefcase to a random player with a mini‑challenge like get 2 kills while crouched, kill 1 enemy using your combat knife, and more. These, when completed, rewarded a care package with a random kill streak.
Keep in mind that EA hasn’t detailed exact gameplay rewards mid‑match. However, they have confirmed the meta rewards. Finishing Contracts pays out tokens in Battlefield 6. These tokens unlock event skins, emblems, and a new melee weapon during Wet Work.
Since Contracts drop and respawn constantly, Wet Work injects a rotating layer of micro‑objectives into Battlefield 6’s usual gunplay. So, some squads will completely ignore them. While others will build their entire round around chain‑completing Contracts and farming event tokens.
