With filming set to begin in a few months, the first plot details for Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Secret Wars have been shared online.
Secret Wars may be adapting a popular Avengers storyline
Given its title, Marvel fans expected the sixth Avengers movie to be based on the 1984-95 and 2015-16 comic book storylines of the same name, particularly the latter, which Marvel Studios has already begun pulling from for its Multiverse Saga movies. However, scooper MAJESTIC_ucm is now claiming that the blockbuster crossover event will “draw significant elements” from an Avengers storyline that has nothing to do with Secret Wars.
In a recent post on X, MAJESTIC_ucm revealed that Avengers: Secret Wars will pull from the 2010–12 miniseries Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, with its storyline “adapted to the context of Secret Wars and Doctor Doom‘s dominion over Battleworld.”
The scooper shared that Secret Wars will see Doctor Doom ruling “the new, merged world from a massive fortress that combines elements of his classic castle with the structure known as the Citadel at the End of Time, a location associated with multiverse control in the comics. In this MCU version, that fortress would be the center of power from which Doom maintains order on Battleworld.”
In The Children’s Crusade, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch is shown devoid of her powers, amnesiac, and engaged to be married to Doctor Doom. While Wanda’s involvement in the comic book storyline largely had to do with her and Doom attempting to channel the Life Force to resurrect her children, in Secret Wars, she will be “imprisoned within Doom’s castle.”
MAJESTIC_ucm explained, “She wouldn’t be there simply as a hostage: Doom would hold her captive because Wanda is a Nexus being, an entity capable of channeling chaos magic that connects different realities. In this theory, Doom would use that power to hold Battleworld together and maintain the structure of the new multiverse.”
The Secret Wars plot details also claim that versions of Sentry and Reed Richards would be prisoners alongside Wanda in Doom’s castle, and that “Doom would apparently marry Sue Storm, partially replicating the comic book concept where Doom rules alongside the Richards family.”
With Doom fully in control, the Avengers know that the only way to erase Battleworld is by freeing Wanda. “However, doing so could also destroy the fragile balance that holds the multiverse together,” states MAJESTIC_ucm, ending his scoop on quite the ominous tease.

Joe and Anthony Russo are back in the director’s chairs for Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to be the final installment in the Multiverse Saga. The MCU movie will be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.
