Avengers: Doomsday will introduce a gender-swapped villain into the MCU.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is now in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released in United States theaters next year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.
Which gender-swapped villain will reportedly be introduced in Avengers: Doomsday?
Scooper Daniel Richtman recently said that there will be multiple versions of Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, including female variants. Now, insider John Rocha said on a recent episode of The Hot Mic that he has also heard there will be multiple Dooms, at least two of which will be women.
“This person says to me — and this person is pretty reliable — you can mention there are at least, and this is for Avengers: Doomsday, there are at least two female Doctor Dooms. One with a purple cloak and golden mask, the other with a gold cloak and a mask,” Rocha said. “There are other Dooms, too, male ones.”
Official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain under wraps, meaning this should be treated as a rumor at this time. If this does prove to be true, however, it does raise questions regarding who else besides Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Doom, as his name is the only one attached to the MCU character at this time.

Marvel Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars then comes on December 17, 2027.
