Hollywood has brought several heart-thrilling action movies that have hooked audiences for years. Some of the movies spawned a successful franchise, catapulting its cast to fame. Sylvester Stallone and Tom Selleck are just one of the few names that have cemented a strong legacy in the cinematic world. But, it all comes with a hefty price, especially for the actors, who take a risk in action movies.

Both the actors have already experienced the same. Selleck recently reflected on his well-being as he spilled the beans on working in the action movies.
Tom Selleck Reflected on Working in Action Movies
Tom Selleck has gained cultural icon of the 1980s status, thanks to his impeccable contribution to Hollywood. From small screen to charming the audiences on the big screen, he has created a strong portfolio with an array of projects, exploring several genres.

He is best known for his role as the charismatic private investigator Thomas Magnum in the Magnum, P.I. series. His work in movies like Runaway (1984), An Innocent Man (1989), and Quigley Down Under (1990) are some of his acclaimed action projects, which further showcases his versatility, as he is capable of handling the physical demands needed in the action genre.

Not only that, his acting prowess further proves the nuanced performances he brings on-screen. In a Telegraph interview, he reflected on the impact of working in action movies, which has affected his health. He shared,
“Yeah, aside from being an old guy. If you do action movies all your life, you get a lot of aches and pains.”
He continued,
“This knee is new, this hip… but it’s a miracle you can even do anything about it.”

This is not the first time when the actor dropped a little update about his health as he stated something similar back in 2014. In a GQ interview, the Blue Bloods actor revealed that his back was “kind of messed up,” before revealing the reason behind the same.
“When you do stunts in movies—I do a lot of them—you’re taking a risk, but you’re also sitting around a lot…You just see the price of stunts. They weren’t that hard, but I think it’s the stop-and-go of all that stuff.”
Selleck’s hardships are quite common in the world of action and adventure as Sylvester Stallone also faced similar hardships, that took a toll on his health.

Given that Stallone has long been a familiar face in the action world, he has performed several action sequences that often left him in pain. In the Season 2 premiere of The Family Stallone via PEOPLE, the Rocky actor got candid about the serious injury he suffered while working on his acclaimed movie, Expendables.

The injury occurred during a movie scene when he had to fight his co-star and WWE legend Steve Austin.
“I did stupid stuff. I was directing ‘Expendables’ and, like an idiot, I’m doing take 10, take whatever, and I remember one slam and I could actually feel one bang. Steve knew.”
The incident left him with dislocated shoulders and a fractured neck that required seven back surgeries, a metal plate inserted into his neck, and spinal fusions. He admitted that he “never” recovered from that incident, before warning others not to do their own stunts.
