Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for DC K.O.
Scott Snyder has been leading the charge of the Absolute Universe with Absolute Batman, a stripped-down and reduced take on Bruce Wayne that has not only managed to win hearts but also drive up sales for the company. The same can be said for other Absolute titles that have essentially been reviving interest in Detective Comics, radically reimagining some of its most brilliant and popular characters.
While there are those who have encouraged Snyder in his response to the allegation that he disses Donald Trump all the time, others have decried the politics that the author holds, pointing to the fact that it might hurt book sales even. However, with regard to the accusation, he simply tweeted out:
I wouldn’t say all my time…— Scott Snyder (@Ssnyder1835) May 14, 2026
A cursory glance through the panels of Absolute Batman would make it very clear what stance Scott Snyder holds when it comes to the political climate of the United States of America.

It is safe to say that the author of Absolute Batman is not very happy with the policies that are being put out by Donald Trump. Given how critical he is of the man, it was obvious that someone would come at him for his takes on Trump. And the author simply decided to correct the man on a small frequency error that he made, albeit seemingly in a sarcastic manner.
Now, there was little else you could have expected from the author behind Absolute Batman. The pages of the comic have some of the most brutal treatments of hate groups and other menaces to society that some would say really do not belong in comics. If that is indeed the case, Black Panther, The X-Men, Wonder Woman, and of course, Batman would like to have a word with such readers.
Scott Snyder’s Criticisms of Donald Trump Seem To Have Gone Into DC K.O. Too

Trump’s 5D Chess has become a popular political meme that has been used to criticize the current top brass of the United States and its policies. And the term seems to have made its way in DC K.O as well, which is penned by Scott Snyder.
DC K.O. #3 by Scott Snyder, Joshua Williamson, Javi Fernández and Xermánico sees the Joker select Mister Mxyzptlk as his partner in the tournament, with the fifth-dimensional imp lending the Clown Prince of Crime his reality-warping powers and transforming him into Emperor Joker. And in one panel, as Emperor Joker makes his grand entrance, he says:
So, kids, what’s better than a king? an Emperor! Emperor Joker, that is.
To this, the scepter in his hand blurts out:
That’s What I Call Five-D Chess *****
Given that the issue came in the wake of the No Kings protests that were sweeping across the United States, it was clear that Snyder was poking fun at Trump.
