Ryan Gosling‘s Ghost Rider MCU movie is real, and we even know when it’s coming out. Marvel Studios announced the news as a big surprise for fans, and now Gosling is joining the MCU as a hero.
When does Ryan Gosling’s Ghost Rider movie come out?
During Marvel Studios‘ San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel, they started things off with some big news. The company revealed that a Ghost Rider movie was in the works, and that Ryan Gosling would be starring in the movie. Gosling even went up on stage to talk about the role, and took in a huge round of applause.
Alongside Gosling’s inclusion in the movie, Marvel Studios also revealed a ton of other news. The movie will release in theaters in 2028, and will be directed by Shawn Levy. Levy is no stranger to either Gosling or the MCU. He directed 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, and he also directed Gosling in the upcoming Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter.

As for Gosling, this is yet another massive role in his rise to mega stardom. After starring in 2023’s Barbie as Ken, Gosling has had a number of high-profile roles, including The Fall Guy, 2026’s massively popular Project Hail Mary, and the next Star Wars movie.
Currently, nothing is known about Ghost Rider or how it will fit into the MCU. Previously, the character was played by Nicolas Cage in 2007 and 2011 movies, although that obviously did not fit into the MCU.
