A brand new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer is out and highlights the upcoming MCU movie. Following the newest look at the movie, we’ve got three reasons to be really excited about Spider-Man.
3 exciting takeaways from the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer
A much more isolated Spider-Man
The latest trailer for Brand New Day highlights something we’ve not yet seen in the world of the MCU Spider-Man: an isolated Peter Parker. Throughout the MCU movies, Parker (Tom Holland) has always had someone, be it Tony Stark, MJ, or Aunt May. This time around, though, he’s got no one.
Following the events of No Way Home, the trailer highlights just how isolated Peter is now that no one knows who he is. This also coincides with a ton of changes happening not only to Peter’s mind and attitude, but his powers as well, which seem to be undergoing a mysterious change that he can’t figure out. It’ll be great to see a side of Peter we haven’t yet in the MCU, especially as we get to the next reason.
A ton of huge MCU crossovers

By far one of the biggest and coolest things to look forward to in the upcoming Brand New Day is the litany of crossovers we’ll see. The Spider-Man movies have been no stranger to some big crossovers, but usually they are more cameos than anything, and serve a larger story throughout the MCU being told.
This time, though, we’ll be seeing heroes much more well associated with Spider-Man. This includes the likes of The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), two characters who traditionally interact with Spider-Man quite a bit in the comics. Getting to see The Punisher, specifically, in a big MCU movie will be awesome, as fans have been clamoring for Bernthal’s character to show up for some time now.
A mysterious, mind-controlling villain

One of the most mysterious aspects of the new Spider-Man trailer continues to be the mysterious villain at the center of it. Throughout the trailer, Peter seems to come across a villain that has the ability to not only control people’s minds, but jump into their bodies and antagonize Peter that way. We see this in the trailer as the entity seems to goad Peter about his relationships, and also threatens MJ as well.
While many people believe this character to be The Jackal, we don’t know for sure. It’s one of several big mysteries surrounding the entire film, and one that will be very exciting to see unravel the closer we get to the movie’s release.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release in theaters on July 31, 2026.
