An MCU star has teased a Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off movie. This marks yet another instance of the star and franchise favorite hinting at the existence of this mystery movie. It must be noted that no other MCU personality has ever explicitly confirmed or denied the existence of such a Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off project.
The star? Vin Diesel. The mystery movie? A spin-off film that focuses on Groot.
What did Vin Diesel say about the mysterious Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off movie?
In a recent Instagram post, Vin Diesel, best known for playing the anthropomorphic tree Groot in the MCU, stated that a spin-off film on the character is in the works. Excerpts from the Instagram post read, “Several works in progress. Riddick. Kaulder with Sir Michael. Rock ‘em Sock ‘em… went personal on this one, but Mattel loves it. Theo, my homage to New York, the city that made me. The Arbor King. Some say Groot is Disney’s most valuable asset.”

This isn’t the first time that Diesel has made such a claim, however. He has long claimed that a Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off movie by the name of The Arbor King or Planet X is in the pipes.
Over a year ago, he took to Instagram, writing, “As you know, I have been deep in development and writing on so many of the characters I have grown a bond with. Just recently, I read to my family, The Arbor King… the long-awaited story of Groot’s return to Planet X… There’s movies the world wants, my incredible fans want, and of course, the ones the kids want. We are Groot!”

Just a few months before he made that post, Vin Diesel put out another one with a caption that read, “Disney wants their Planet X! Which some say is Marvel’s most anticipated movie, haha. The film where Groot returns to his home planet.”
That said, no other personality associated with the MCU has publicly spoken of such a project as of this story. Furthermore, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm that such a concept exists either. So for now, if the project is real, it’s probably under an unusually tight lid, as even usual leakers and other MCU stars have yet to allude to it.
