Lucasfilm has announced some major plans for this year’s Star Wars Day. The studio confirmed that it will host free special look fan events for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu at select Imax theaters around the world on May the 4th.
“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu,” reads the official synopsis.
What to expect from the Star Wars Day event for The Mandalorian and Grogu movie?
Fans attending the Star Wars Day event for The Mandalorian and Grogu movie will be treated to more than 25 minutes of exclusive, never-before-seen footage, and special fan giveaways, including a brand-new exclusive poster. In addition, Lucasfilm is promising more fun surprises in store for fans during the event.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is directed by Jon Favreau, who also serves as the Star Wars show’s creator and executive producer. The movie will be led by Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, and Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward. Joining them are Jonny Coyne, Dave Filoni, and Steve Blum, with acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese voicing an Ardennian shopkeeper. It is produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce, with music composed by Ludwig Göransson.
The highly anticipated movie will arrive in theaters on May 22, 2026.
