Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 may look very different from its predecessors, according to a new insider report. A prominent Marvel scooper has revealed who will step up to protect New York City when its most familiar defender cannot. The reason behind that absence may also explain a notable gap in another upcoming Marvel project.
The Defenders rumored to take Daredevil’s place in Born Again Season 3
Insider @MyTimeToShineHello has revealed new details about Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. The scoop confirms the Defenders will reunite to protect New York City. Matt Murdock’s absence is the driving force behind their return.
Set photos from New York have confirmed Mike Colter and Finn Jones are returning as Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Krysten Ritter also appeared on set, reprising her role as Jessica Jones. The trio last joined forces on Netflix in 2017’s The Defenders.
@MyTimeToShineHello states: “At the start of Daredevil Born Again Season 3 we will focus on the Defenders defending the city while Matt is in prison!” His imprisonment likely explains his absence from the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Punisher appears to fill that gap in the film instead, stepping up as Hell’s Kitchen’s street-level protector.
The Hand remains a compelling threat the Defenders could face together. Their return, now appearing more comic-accurate, featured prominently in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer. That film takes place after Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, deepening the narrative connection between the two projects.
Season 2 features Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Margarita Levieva, Tony Dalton, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, Arty Froushan, Genneya Walton, Zabryna Guevara, Clark Johnson, Ayelet Zurer, Wilson Bethel, and Elden Henson. Matthew Lillard, Lili Taylor, and Krysten Ritter join the cast as newcomers.
Daredevil: Born Again streams weekly on Disney+, with Season 3 currently in production.
