Released on Netflix in 2017, The Defenders brought together the main stars of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to face off against The Hand. It marked the first and last time the four vigilantes assembled to take on a common enemy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Netflix canceling its entire Marvel sub-franchise two years later.
In 2021, Marvel Studios began reintroducing characters from Netflix’s Defenders Saga, with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, followed quickly by Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Hawkeye. Marvel then announced a new Disney+ show featuring both actors, Daredevil: Born Again, which premieres its second season on March 24.
Born Again Season 2 will reunite Cox’s Man Without Fear with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, marking her first appearance in the MCU since the cancellation of her Netflix series in 2018. Mike Colter is also expected to cameo in Season 2 as Luke Cage, with a larger role rumored for the actor in Season 3, although that remains unconfirmed by Marvel at this time.
Will the Defenders reassemble in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 or 3?
With three of the four members of the Defenders expected to appear in Born Again Season 2, the question on every fan’s mind is whether Marvel has plans to reassemble the team in the MCU, especially after Iron Fist’s actor Finn Jones teased on social media that he was working out in New York, fueling speculation that his MCU return is imminent.
According to scooper Cryptic HD QUALITY, Jones is “unfortunately not in S2… but he’s coming back!!” The scooper added, “You’ll definitely see a certain someone by the end of the show,” which is likely referring to Colter’s cameo as Luke Cage.

Another notable scooper, The Beyond Reporter, backed up Cryptic HD QUALITY’s Iron Fist report, confirming that Jones will return as the hero in Born Again Season 3. The scooper added that Élodie Yung will return in Season 3 as Elektra Natchios, who was last seen in the Defenders crossover.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on March 4, 2026, with Season 3 slated to debut in March 2027.
