Marvel cleared its entire release schedule for a single day to launch three new titles at once. Meanwhile, the publisher revealed its unified plan for the Midnight Universe line alongside creator details and a new cover format.
Marvel sets Midnight X-Men, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man release dates
Marvel will release Midnight X-Men #1, Midnight Fantastic Four #1, and Midnight Spider-Man #1 on October 7. According to a press release, these three debut issues will serve as the only new Marvel comics available that day.
This simultaneous release marks a notably rare move for the publisher. Additionally, retailers can expect special launch promotions, orderable incentives, and an enhanced Midnight Variant Program. All three main covers will also feature a Cloaked Cover trade dress that only reveals the full artwork on the first page.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Hickman and Matteo Della Fonte helm Midnight X-Men #1, with Dike Ruan providing the cover. Benjamin Percy and Kev Walker tackle Midnight Fantastic Four #1, while Phillip Kennedy Johnson and ScieTronc collaborate on Midnight Spider-Man #1, featuring a Steve Beach cover.

Midnight Universe Executive Editor Dan Buckley expressed strong confidence in the line’s direction. “The more we talked about Midnight, the more we realized it was far more than just the birth of another new universe,” Buckley said.
Hickman also shared his enthusiasm for the project’s long-term scope. “Ambitious stories with intricate plots and long-form payoffs, which is exactly what MIDNIGHT X-MEN is,” Hickman said.
Johnson similarly described his commitment to the Spider-Man title. “I’ve never written a longer series outline than the one for MIDNIGHT SPIDER-MAN,” Johnson said. Percy, meanwhile, called the Fantastic Four series “a fresh origin story for the characters that channels cosmic, Lovecraftian terror.”
All three debut issues arrive on October 7 as the only new Marvel comics released that day.
