Jon Hamm recently expressed that he still wants to join Marvel after years of pursuing the studio to cast him. The Mad Men actor has constantly voiced his wish to join the MCU over the years, as he claims to be a massive comic book fan. This has also led fans to envision the actor for roles like the popular X-Men antagonist, Mister Sinister.

Jon Hamm doesn’t know if he’ll ever get cast in a Marvel movie

Jon Hamm recently had a chat with Screen Rant, wherein he spoke about whether he could join the MCU in a role he has suggested to Marvel Studios in the past. He stated that he was uncertain about bagging a role, given how secretive Marvel is.

Hamm said, “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. Nobody knows what’s going on in the secret world of that company.” The actor, however, conveyed that he was hopeful, saying, ”I do know that I have a lot of… I have a lot of appreciation for that world, so hopefully that’s reciprocated. Why not me?”

In June 2024, Hamm told The Hollywood Reporter that he had reached out to the Marvel executives and pitched them the roles he could be cast for. However, he did not reveal the identity of the roles. He said, ”I’ve pitched myself for a couple parts of the Marvel universe, I don’t want to say what exactly, but it was a part of a comic book that I really liked.” So maybe it’ll work out.”

Back in March 2022, while speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, Hamm stated that he was close to playing Mister Sinister in the post-credits of the 2020 film The New Mutants. However, the movie’s sequel was canceled after its disappointing run at the box office.

He conveyed, ”I never shot anything. I remember having a conversation with people. So I was excited to be considered. But these conversations happen and then life intervenes.”
