WE SLEEP BESIDE OUR GUNS WHILE YOU SLEEP BESIDE YOUR WIVES.
These words echo the lives of our soldiers—heroes who endure sleepless nights and harsh conditions so that the rest of us can enjoy peace, comfort, and stability.
Today, we remember not just their courage but also their humanity. Behind the uniforms and weapons are individuals with dreams, families, and aspirations, just like us. Yet they willingly set all that aside to defend the nation, to preserve the unity of our land, and to ensure that our flag continues to fly high.
To the fallen heroes, we owe a debt that cannot be repaid. To the veterans, we offer our respect and gratitude for the burdens they continue to carry. And to those still on the front lines, we stand with you, proud and thankful for your unwavering commitment.
Let us never take for granted the sacrifices of these brave men and women. Let us honor their memories by striving for a peaceful and united Nigeria—a nation worth the price they have paid.
