Rachel Zegler’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes has become the talk of the town. This attention is not only because it follows one of the greatest fantasy trilogies of all time, The Hunger Games, but also because of just how well-made the movie is. Based on a book that did not receive a lot of attention, fans weren’t all too invested in watching the film. However, the movie managed to completely change the tone of the story, making it a lot more interesting for audiences, and becoming one of the highlights of the year.

Being as successful as it has become, the movie just reached a massive milestone. While the achievement is worth celebration, it comes alongside the release of The Marvels, which deeply disappointed fans. So much so, that a film made by the biggest franchise of all time, felt shot in front of Zegler’s film.

Rachel Zegler’s Film Just Crossed a Big Milestone
Rachel Zegler’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was a beautiful movie. It featured a cast of amazing actors, like Hunter Schafer, Viola Davis, Peter Dinkel, and Tom Blyth. On top of this, it featured a beautiful storyline, exceptional cinematography, and fantastic set designs, that left an impression on their audience.

The work that was put into this movie ended up paying off. Recently, the film crossed the $300 million mark, via The Hollywood Handle, crossing out a massive milestone. On top of this, the movie had a budget of only $100 million, meaning that not only did it break, but also profited very well.

The Marvels Ended Up Falling Short
In the same way that Rachel Zegler’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes had a lot against it, being based on an unsuccessful book, The Marvels had a lot going for it. Not only did it come from one of the biggest franchises of all time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also the film had an interesting plot and a cast full of widely well-known, well-respected actors.

Despite this, the movie only managed to make almost $200 million. while this is no small number, it is important to note that this is a drastic downfall from the profit made by this franchise only a few years ago. This raises the question of perhaps, superhero-fatigue may be a real thing. What makes this all the worse is the fact that this movie had a budget of $274 million, according to The Numbers, not even managing to break even, let alone profit.
