Popular singer BOJ has opened up on how he featured Wizkid on the remix of the hit song ‘Awolowo,’ off his second studio album ‘Gbagada Express.’

One of the pioneers of the Alte sound in Nigeria, Bolaji Odojukan, who is also one-third of the popular music group DRB Lasgidi and known as BOJ in an exclusive interview on the popular podcast, ‘uncensored’ opened up on how he had featured Wizkid on the remix of ‘Awolowo’ off his second studio album ‘Gbagada Express’ released in 2022.

The singer, songwriter and record producer revealed that Ghanaian artist Darko Vibes had reached out to him in the middle of the night to request the song mentioning that Wiz had liked the song and would want to work on the project. He revealed he did not view it as much as at that time until two days later when Wizkid shared a snippet of his verse on the song on social media and tagged him in the post as well.

BOJ revealed that he had asked for the vocals of Wiz but did not think it was possible till it was sent to him, and as many will say, the rest was history, and the song was released in 2022.
