In yet another post revealing more shots of what we never got to see before, Zack Snyder went all in on Ben Affleck’s Batman. The image featured Batfleck in the suit he would’ve worn had the Snyderverse continued.

Following Netflix’s acquisition of WB, Snyder has gone ham on social media: posting picture after picture of the core Justice League members and what he had envisioned for his ultimate saga.
Snyderverse Pics Fuel Our Knightmare
The Batfleck image we all recently received online, as of writing this, came with the caption that proves Zack Snyder isn’t done with his saga (via Instagram):
Bruce Wayne, on the run in a broken future—hunted by Parademons and you know who. A world lost. A last gamble. One chance to send Flash back and reset everything. From Zack Snyder’s Justice League—the nightmare timeline where hope is almost extinct.
The Knightmare timeline sees Darkseid conquering Earth using the Anti-Life Equation, turning Superman into a tyrant who kills Lois Lane. Batman assembles a resistance with Cyborg, Deathstroke, Mera, and Joker to send Flash back in time via the Cosmic Treadmill, altering events to prevent the catastrophe.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League ended with the perfect setup for this, and it’s no coincidence Snyder has been releasing these behind-the-scenes photos.
Prior to this, Snyder had released a series of images of the following characters:
Jared Leto’s Joker
Henry Cavill’s Superman
Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke
Unfortunately, Ben Affleck never got the Batman movie he wanted to direct due to multiple issues and clashes during the initial stages. Will this new acquisition change things for the buff Bat?

Zack Snyder has a long and fruitful relationship with Netflix, having worked on projects like Army of the Dead and the Rebel Moon flicks. Speaking with CulturaOcio for Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, Snyder said he would restore the Snyderverse (via JoBlo):
If Netflix had owned the rights to the DC characters in my universe, absolutely. Yeah, no question about it.
We can already feel the hype building up, and maybe this would mean that Ben Affleck’s Batman gets the Justice he’s always needed to deliver a memorable Batman in the long history of actors who’ve taken the mantle.
The only issue would be the clash with James Gunn’s DCU establishment. Since Gunn is open to Elseworlds projects, maybe we’d get the best of both worlds?

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently streaming on HBO Max in the U.S.
