Baki Hanma Season 2 held this record for a while before Sakamoto Days took over with a staggering 8.6 million views, as revealed by the Tudum website. Along with that, this LinkedIn post reveals that Sakamoto Days has also surpassed the streaming figures of the following anime on Netflix: Dandadan (4.3 million views), Dragon Ball DAIMA (3.2 million views), Record of Ragnarok season 2 (3 million views), and My Happy Marriage (2.7 million views).

The record-breaking success of Sakamoto Days on Netflix could nudge the makers to dedicate their undivided attention to the anime. If this ends up happening, the animation quality in season 2 might turn out to be significantly better. This is just a possibility for now, but if Sakamoto Days continues on the same path, it won’t be long before this turns into a reality.
Sakamoto Days is available to stream on Netflix.
