Eddie, also 41, faces 18 charges, including nine felonies for similar offenses, eight felonies for allegedly providing false or misleading info in excess of $300 a misdemeanor charge for making false statements to police officers.

Wendy Osefo and Eddie Osefo’s Legal Trouble Begins From a Reported Burglary
The Osefos’ legal issues began in April 2024, when they reported a burglary at their home while they were on vacation in Jamaica. The couple claimed they returned to find their home ransacked, including designer handbags and jewelry, allegedly stolen. However, inconsistencies in their story raised red flags.
Reported by US Magazine, the investigators noted that their home’s security system showed no break-ins or motion inside the residence during the time they were away, except for package deliveries. The docs reported,
There was a screen with damage laying on the roof, and the window was not locked. To go in or out of that window, one has to step on the toilet. The toilet lid was down and had no debris on it. When Sheriff’s office personnel stepped onto the roof and back into the home, they tracked roof ‘grit’ back inside.
Furthermore, Eddie Osefo gave conflicting statements to insurance companies, which raised further suspicion. In particular, Eddie was accused of failing to disclose claims made with multiple insurers. Eddie and Wendy signed a statement claiming $2,500 for the building and $450,000 in property.
He initially reported on April 8 to Travelers Insurance that the stolen property included his and his wife’s anniversary band, valued at $4,500. Yet, just days later, he called the insurer to update the claim, stating that the band was now missing. The company ultimately settled the claim for $25,380, which was supposedly used to replace the stolen items.
Later, they signed and submitted letters to Jewelers Mutual Insurance claiming the burglary of 57 items. Authorities also found that the couple had significant financial debt, further raising suspicions that the Osefos might have staged the burglary as part of an insurance fraud scheme.

The Osefos’ arrest comes just a month after their RHOP co-star Karen Huger was released from prison in September 2024. Huger had served a six-month sentence for a DUI charge after a car crash earlier that year. Her return to the public eye was featured on RHOP‘s Season 10 premiere. Wendy had recently commented on Karen’s release ahead of the premiere. She told Deadline, published on October 8,
I have not spoken to her since her release. However, I feel like everybody should be given the opportunity to have a platform to tell their own story. There’s no point or purpose in your story being told by others.
Despite this support for Karen, Wendy, and Eddie are now in their own legal battle. The ongoing investigation will determine how this scandal affects their future in the public eye.
Will Wendy and Eddie Osefo be able to clear their names, or will this legal trouble overshadow their future on RHOP? Let us know your thoughts.
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Bravo, and it’s available to stream on Peacock (US).
