Tom Holland is all set to return for the fourth Spider-Man movie, and there are rumors of him starring in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. But will that mark the end of his run as the character? Could Miles Morales replace Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Here are some reasons this may happen.

There can be three major reasons why Miles Morales can replace Tom Holland as Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Tom Holland talked about a break
Tom Holland is soon set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but he previously announced that he plans to take a break from acting in 2027. Secret Wars will also release in that same year. So, it could be that Holland will conclude his role as Spider-Man in Secret Wars and then proceed to take a break from acting.
Holland said about this to GQ Magazine, “I feel really blessed to be at a point in my career where I can take time off, reset, and come back ready to go…I’ve got a slightly busy year next year, and then I’ll probably take a bit more time off in 2027. We’ll see.”
This could also mean that Marvel could kill off Holland’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Miles Morales cannot appear in Marvel before 2027
Interestingly, Secret Wars coincides with the release year of Beyond the Spider-Verse. So, Miles can only cross over to the MCU after Beyond the Spider-Verse. This could align with Secret Wars, which also has a 2027 release date. Perhaps Miles Morales could crossover to the MCU after the conclusion of the Spider-Verse trilogy and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Kevin Feige has stated that Secret Wars will reset the MCU
Kevin Feige said that Marvel will see significant changes after Secret Wars (via Variety). This could point toward a reset. While the term reboot was never used, Marvel may still reset the slate. This reset could pave the way for Miles Morales to take over as Spider-Man in the future of the franchise.
Either way, it seems that there is a good chance for Miles Morales to take over Spider-Man duties. He could replace Peter Parker in the future.
