Culpa Nuestra (Our Fault), the highly anticipated final installment in the Culpables saga, finally has a release window. The Spanish-language original movie is set to premiere on October 16, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Based on Mercedes Ron’s New York Times Best-Selling Stories, which stemmed from Wattpad, the threequel is coming off the success of Culpa Mía (My Fault) and Culpa Tuya (Your Fault).
With Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara reprising their roles as Noah and Nick, director Domingo González is assured the third entry in the series will end the trilogy on a high note.

The third movie in a trilogy is often the hardest to get right. However, Domingo González is confident the third movie will outdo the previous entries, which became some of Amazon’s biggest International releases.
Ahead of the sequel’s release, the director told Deadline that this series will avoid the pitfall that most trilogies fall into, claiming that everyone who saw Our Fault felt the threequel was the best in the franchise.
When you have success with a first movie, the second one is often not as good, and then the third one even less so. In this case, people are saying that the second one is better than the first, and everybody that has seen the third movie says that it is the best of the three.
While the sequel fell short of the first movie in terms of critical reception, it did have the biggest international original launch for Amazon, and it’ll be interesting to see if the threequel will follow suit.

But one thing remains almost certain: the threequel will still do immense numbers for the streamer, thanks to the built-in audience.
How the Culpables Saga Became a Global Sensation
Having amassed 80M fans on Wattpad, the IP already had a huge, dedicated fanbase before the adaptations. And considering the story centers around the forbidden love trope, featuring two attractive individuals at the forefront, it unsurprisingly did exceptionally well among the young adult demographic.

It also helps that the lead is a strong female lead with actual agency in the narrative. Weighing in on its impact, author Ron expressed (via Remezcla) that the character-driven approach to these stories is what separates the Culpables saga from the likes of Anna Todd’s After and Adriana Godoy’s A través de mi ventana series
I think Culpables is very different from A través de mi ventana or After […] because we have a super big arc where we start getting to know the characters when they are super young and we end up getting to know them as adults. Apart from all the action that the books have and all the characters that come to make this story more well-rounded. I think that makes people hooked and why they can’t stop watching the movies or the books.
While it remains to be seen if the trilogy can end on a high note or note, given the success of the previous two installments, the third movie will still draw a lot of traction, based on the hype alone.
