The knockout stage of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is beginning to take shape as the group stage draws to a close in Morocco. Eight teams will book their places in the quarter-finals, where the battle for the continental title and automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup will intensify.
Hosts Morocco, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa and Cameroon have already secured their places in the last eight after strong performances in the group stage. The remaining quarter-final spots will be decided after the final round of matches in Groups C and D.
Nigeria, Zambia and Malawi remain locked in a three-way battle for qualification from Group C, while Ghana and Mali are still fighting for the remaining ticket from Group D alongside already-qualified Cameroon.
