a troubling incident occurred in Lagos, Nigeria, where four police officers allegedly extorted ₦1 million from three National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. The corps members were reportedly stopped in the Surulere area for not possessing a physical copy of a driver’s license. The situation escalated, leading to their detention at the Area C Police Command, where the extortion took place.

Following the incident, the Lagos State Police Command took swift action by summoning the implicated officers and initiating disciplinary proceedings. The extorted funds were subsequently recovered and returned to the affected corps members. The police have urged the victims to testify at the ongoing trial to ensure accountability.
