At the 1:20 mark in the final Toy Story 5 trailer, Cusack’s Jessie can be seen on the back of a real horse with her trusted sidekick Bullseye. When Jessie pulled the horse’s mane, she seemingly gained control of the animal. This move is very reminiscent of 2007’s Ratatouille, which featured the main character, Remy the rat, also pulling on the chef’s hair to control him. Jessie riding the horse could potentially connect Toy Story 5 to the popular fan theory that all Pixar movies take place in the same universe.
The Pixar fan theory was created by Jon Negroni in 2013, after he noticed that 2012’s Brave included cool Easter eggs featuring a wood carving of Sulley from Monsters Inc. and a wood model of Toy Story’s iconic Pizza Planet truck in one of the witch’s cottage scenes. Because of this, fans started analyzing all Pixar movies to see potential connections that could further support the Pixar theory. One of the popular speculations revolves around the mysterious identity of the magical witch from Brave. Fans believed that she might actually be Boo, the young girl from Monsters Inc., which could explain the Pixar Easter eggs found in Brave.
