The upcoming animated adaptation of the hit South Korean web novel and manhwa series, Tomb Raider King, has locked in its Japanese voice cast ahead of its July 2026 broadcast. For fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, this announcement is particularly thrilling. The series has tapped Junichi Suwabe, the legendary voice behind Ryomen Sukuna, the undisputed King of Curses, to voice the narrative’s formidable antagonist, Taisei Oogawara (Kwon Tae-joon).

STUDIO EEK is handling the animation production, and a freshly released character trailer has already introduced fans to Kotaro Yanagi, a specialized relic-mending expert. With a premier staff and a star-studded voice roster, Tomb Raider King is shaping up to be a summer blockbuster. The anime is slated for a July 2026 release.

Sukuna’s Voice Actor Leads Tomb Raider King’s Villains

Junichi Suwabe’s casting is the cleanest hook for the project. In Tomb Raider King, he voices Taisei Ogawara, the chairman of the huge company TKBM. The official character profile says Taisei uses his wealth to collect powerful relics, hires Ryoga as a tool, and then pushes him toward death after growing wary of his abilities.

That makes the character a perfect fit for Suwabe’s signature style: calm, polished, and threatening all at once. For viewers who associate Suwabe with Sukuna’s ruthless edge, this is exactly the kind of role that can land with impact.

The rest of the cast strengthens that appeal. Yoshimasa Hosoya plays the lead Ryoga Goriki / Seo Joo-heon. He is known as the voice of Doppo Kunikida in Bungo Stray Dogs. Saori Hayami voices Irene Holton, who is well-known as Yor Forger in SPY x FAMILY and as Rachel in Tower of God.

Additionally, Miyu Irino plays Kotaro Yanagi / Yoo Jae-ha, who has played the voice of Haku in Spirited Away, Shoya Ishida in A Silent Voice, and Sabo in One Piece. The upcoming series also bagged Nobuhiko Okamoto as the voice of Sho Kureha / Oh Seung-woo. She is known as the iconic voice behind Garfiel in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.

What is Tomb Raider King About?

The story begins in a world where mysterious tombs suddenly appear all over the globe. Inside those tombs are relics that grant special abilities, and people quickly start using them to gain money, power, and influence. The protagonist, Ryoga Goriki (Japanese name dub for Seo Joo-heon), makes a living from tomb raiding by using relic-powered abilities, but his life falls apart when his employer, Taisei, betrays him and leaves him on the brink of death.

A crow relic then saves him, and he wakes up 15 years in the past, giving him a second chance to reshape his future. From there, the story becomes a revenge-driven climb back to the top, with Ryoga using his memory and experience to challenge the people who once controlled him. Ryoga is not simply chasing treasure. He is aiming to rise above every ruler who abused power, then become the true “tomb raider king.”

The production is also being presented with real care. The official site lists Lee Hyun-joung as character designer and chief animation director, Kim Ju-young for music, and QWER for the opening theme song Show Down.

For Jujutsu Kaisen fans, the draw is obvious. Suwabe’s villain role gives the show an immediate edge, while the rest of the cast brings a lot of recognized anime talent into one adaptation. Add a revenge-heavy story, relic-based powers, and a second-chance time-travel setup, and Tomb Raider King starts to look like more than just another manhwa anime. It looks like a cast-led thriller with enough personality to stand out.
