Almost a week ago, reports emerged claiming that Tom Hardy was let go from MobLand due to alleged on-set antics. Further shedding light on the situation, The Hollywood Reporter has now reported that the actor allegedly kept the cast, including veterans like Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, waiting for hours at a time by locking himself in his trailer. One source alleged:
He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time. He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.
Even though Puck previously reported that the actor was allegedly fired from the show following on-set behavior and reported disputes with producers David Glasser and Jez Butterworth, per THR, it appears his fate on the series has yet to be decided.
Can Tom Hardy Still Return for MobLand Season 3 Amid Conflict?
Given that Season 1 was a massive hit, holding the record for Paramount+’s biggest series launch with 8.8 million views until Dutton Ranch surpassed it, and with Season 2 slated to premiere later this year, a third season would ideally already be a safe bet.
But following the reported tension between Hardy and the execs, this does cast doubt on the feasibility of a third season without him, as Hardy remains the undeniable lead and the biggest draw of the series. If the Fury Road star is indeed let go from the show, this could take a toll on the show’s viewership when it comes to potential follow-ups, which could commence production this September if a third season is greenlit.
However, with THR noting that Hardy’s fate still seemingly hangs in the balance, it wouldn’t be surprising if Paramount ultimately ends up making room for him once again to serve the series in the long run.

Beyond this reported instance of on-set troubles, Hardy has built a reputation for being hard to work with, with the grueling production of Mad Max: Fury Road serving as the most infamous example.
As the story goes, Hardy allegedly tended to arrive late on set, in contrast to Charlize Theron, who was known for her extreme professionalism. The tension reportedly reached a boiling point when Hardy arrived three hours late despite earlier requests, prompting Theron to confront him and leading to a heated exchange between the two.
Another notable instance occurred during his first major Hollywood break on Star Trek: Nemesis. According to Sir Patrick Stewart, Hardy would often confine himself to his trailer, and rarely interact with his costars when the cameras weren’t rolling.
[He] never said, ‘Good morning,’ never said, ‘Goodnight,’ and spent the hours he wasn’t needed on set in his trailer with his girlfriend. He was by no means hostile – it was just challenging to establish any rapport with him. On the evening [he] wrapped his role, he characteristically left without ceremony or niceties, simply walking out of the door. As it closed, I said quietly to [my co-stars], ‘And there goes someone I think we shall never hear of again.’While Hardy did prove Sir Stewart wrong and has cemented himself as one of the most acclaimed performers of this generation, it remains to be seen how the controversy surrounding MobLand will ultimately unfold and what it could mean for his future.
