Tobey Maguire’s rumored appearance in Avengers: Doomsday has finally received a positive update, giving Spider-Man fans some hope about the iconic character’s potential future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Doomsday is still set to premiere on December 18, 2026, which will then be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars’ theatrical release on December 17, 2027.
What’s the Avengers: Doomsday update about Tobey Maguire’s potential role?
Recently, the previous rumor claimed that the next Avengers movie will feature Maguire’s Spider-Man getting killed by the Fox X-Men. However, the newest Doomsday update from The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez has now seemingly debunked the rumor about the X-Men reportedly fighting Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus.
According to the insider, Maguire’s Spider-Man won’t die in the upcoming movie. Speculation about Maguire’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday started last when he was spotted by a fan in London, where the movie’s filming location was located. His character was last seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he fought side-by-side with Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield’s versions of the friendly neighborhood superhero.
