The first look at Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle in The Punisher: One Last Kill has been unveiled.

Marvel Television just recently released a midseason trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. That series, which comes from showrunner Dario Scardapane, premiered on Disney+ last month, while new episodes are continuing to be released on Tuesday until the finale airs on May 5. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio both return as Daredevil/Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

While Bernthal was a big part of Daredevil: Born Again’s first season, he has so far been absent from Season 2. This is because Bernthal’s MCU character is getting their own television special, The Punisher: One Last Kill, that will be released in May, following the conclusion of Born Again Season 2.

The new Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 midseason trailer offers a brief glimpse of Frank Castle’s return, as a fully bearded Bernthal can be seen pointing his gun at someone at the very end of the footage.

What else do we know about The Punisher: One Last Kill?

The synopsis for Marvel’s Punisher special reads, “As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight.”

Further details beyond that remain under wraps at this time, though it is known that Bernthal’s Punisher is also appearing in Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also known as Spider-Man 4, which arrives in July.

Reinaldo Marcus Green directs The Punisher: One Last Day. Green also co-wrote the script with Bernthal; both of them also serve as executive producers on the project alongside Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Sana Amanat.

The Punisher: One Last Kill will be released on Disney+ on May 12, 2026.
