The latest Avengers: Doomsday update will put a smile on every The Fantastic Four: First Steps fan.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to take place entirely in its own universe, with viewers being introduced to the retro-futuristic world known as Earth-828. With Avengers: Doomsday set to unite the Fantastic Four with the rest of the MCU heroes, fans will be seeing a lot more of Earth-828 later this year when the movie opens in theaters.
Why should The Fantastic Four: First Steps fans be looking forward to Avengers: Doomsday?
According to scooper James Mack on X, “Avengers Doomsday will spend a good portion of its runtime in the Fantastic Four’s universe.” This isn’t entirely surprising news for fans who have been staying up to date on recent Doomsday rumors, as scooper MyTimeToShineHello previously revealed that the Avengers sequel would include a scene featuring the Fantastic Four visiting Steve Rogers at his cabin on Earth-828.

Additionally, Steve Rogers is said to live on Earth-828 with Peggy Carter and their son following the events of Avengers: Endgame. MyTimeToShineHello has also revealed that Evans will be part of a subplot involving Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Steve looking for Loki, and that both are “already on the Fantastic Four’s ship with Doom before it arrives in the MCU,” as glimpsed in the post-credits scene for Thunderbolts*.
With Steve set to play a “central role” in Doomsday, according to the Russo Brothers, Mack’s Earth-828 runtime report seems accurate, although, as always, fans should take it with a grain of salt until officially confirmed or debunked by Marvel.
Exact plot details remain under wraps for Doomsday, although the movie is confirmed to bring together the Avengers, the New Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men for the first time on the big screen. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
