When PS5 was announced it was believed that would outshine Xbox in every aspect, however, recent statistics paint a different picture. The console wars have taken a new turn as Xbox fanboys hang on the user numbers pointing out the superiority of the console.
A recent tweet has re-ignited the debate by comparing the active users of PlayStation Network (PSN) and Xbox, with the latter dominating the pool with 500 million users against PSN’s 123 million. Nevertheless, numbers do not reveal the full picture as yet again this kind of superiority is pointless.
Console Wars Rage On As Fans Debate User Numbers
The intense battle over active users between PSN and Xbox is always on. According to reports, PSN had the highest number of 123 million in December 2023, while Xbox supporters celebrate a staggering number of 500 million.

This has made the fans of the latter pretty happy as they assert complete dominance over the PlayStation.

The fans point out that Xbox’s user count includes players from various platforms, including Blizzard.net and mobile games like Candy Crush.

While the numbers do look great for Microsoft, there is a bigger picture to it. These numbers are incomparable since they are not console-only, which renders them pointless.
On another note, the entire premise of console wars is pointless in the modern age.
More exclusives are bound to transfer from one console to another and become available to both sides of the gaming universe.
