The cancellation arrived six months after the Season 2 finale aired. Sinclair, Thor, and other Gen V stars have recently appeared in the fifth and final season of the parent series, The Boys.
In a joint statement, Vought Cinematic Universe (VCU) executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg addressed the cancellation. “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again,” they said.
Gen V premiered on Prime Video in September 2023 as a spin-off of The Boys. The show was loosely based on the “We Gotta Go Now” comic book story arc by Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and John Higgins.
Prime Video has confirmed prequel series Vought Rising will premiere in 2027. Another spin-off, The Boys: Mexico, remains in active development from writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and executive producers Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal.
