Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 5 Finale.
The final episode of The Boys left many unanswered questions, with implications that make one wonder whether The Boys had even achieved what they set out to do. Yes, Homelander died begging for his life, on live television, in the Oval Office, on Easter. However, Soldier Boy, who has revealed himself to be just as vengeful and unstable, is currently in suspended animation and likely in the possession of Vought.
This has fans wondering what the future holds for the world The Boys have saved, which is still very much under Vought American’s leadership, with Stan Edgar at the helm, who was seen giving a press conference after being freed from the prison Homelander put him in. For all we know, Soldier Boy might be the weapon that Vought is going to use as a weapon to keep its leverage when it comes to the negotiating table.

Stan Edgar was seen back leading Vought International after Homelander was killed. While Ashley Barret was being hauled off to prison for the crimes that she committed under Homelander’s leadership, Edgar, ever the chess player, highlighted his confinement by Homelander, neatly distancing himself from the former Captain of the Seven.
Now, the Seven are gone. Sister Sage is gone. The strongest supes that Vought had in their pocket are dead. All, except Soldier Boy, of course. Homelander put the supe in suspended animation and stored him on his floor at Vought as he had done before. This means that Vought International and Stan Edgar likely have Soldier Boy in their possession and could use him as a bargaining chip against the United States government. Now, why would a true, red, white, and blue American like Soldier Boy turn on the government?
Vought could always blame it on the socialists. It’s good for business.

If Soldier Boy, Ben, is indeed brought back by Vought, Hughie Campbell, Starlight, MM, and Kimiko have more to lose. Annie and Hughie are having a child. MM has gotten back with his family, even adopting Ryan. With no Frenchie, no Billy Butcher, and no Sister Sage, can The Boys stand up against Soldier Boy?
Absolutely. But only if they shoot first.
Kimiko is the gun here, and given that we have seen Soldier Boy do exactly that to Bombsight, not only can the powers-stealing ability work on Soldier Boy, but it can also render him completely human. However, Ben, who is usually very good at retrieving covert information, could have the upper hand if he learns about Kimiko, whose powers were broadcast live to all of the United States. Should Soldier Boy try to lead something akin to Clara Vought’s vision of the world, especially with Homelander dead, The Boys are going to be in a LOT of deep trouble.
