The Batman 2 will start filming soon and set footage has fans buzzing with excitement. The upcoming Matt Reeves sequel will be filmed in Liverpool, England, with footage being shared online.
What do The Batman 2 set videos and photos show?
The Batman 2 set videos show the Caped Crusader’s stunt double, Rick English, and a GCPD car with a broken windshield at Birkenhead Tunnel. The footage appears to show an action sequence being prepped, with the surrounding imagery resembling a scrapped sequence from the first film.

The footage is likely from a technical recce, meaning that while the set videos show footage that won’t end up in the film, it could be the same sequence shot during official photography.

Some of 2022’s The Batman storyboards reveal a scrapped scene that depicts Batman chasing the Penguin through a similar tunnel, with the Batmobile narrowly missing civilians before entering it.
Fans are speculating that the scene may be repurposed for the sequel, which will feature a winter theme, explaining the bumper and windshield covered in snow on the GCPD vehicle. Regardless, The Batman 2’s set videos have also teased a new Bat logo, which some fans speculate might be teasing one of the sequel’s villains, along with its working title.

If it makes its release date, The Batman sequel will arrive five years after the original, which received critical acclaim and made over $772 million worldwide. Details for the movie’s story are being kept under wraps, though some of it is being teased by the casting of Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson.

The Batman Part 2 is directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay co-written by him and Mattson Tomlin. The film follows the 2022 original and its spin-off, The Penguin. According to a recent update, the latter may be getting a second season. Besides a new setting, the sequel is expected to feature an “evolution” in Batman’s costume.
The Batman Part 2 is scheduled to release on October 1, 2027.
