The runtime for the next DC Studios movie, Supergirl, has reportedly been revealed.
Supergirl will be the second theatrical installment in the DC Universe, which launched in 2024 with the adult animated series Creature Commandos. Inspired by Tom King’s 2022 comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the upcoming superhero movie follows a 21-year-old Kara Zor-El as she travels across the galaxy with Krypto, during which she meets a young girl named Ruthye and goes on a murderous quest for revenge.
What is the current runtime for Supergirl?
According to Everything_DCU on X, the current runtime for Supergirl is “1 Hr: 45 Mins without credits.” For comparison, the first DCU movie, James Gunn’s Superman, was two hours and nine minutes with credits. Given that credits typically add roughly seven to eight minutes to a movie’s runtime, fans are still looking at a superhero movie that clocks in under two hours.

The runtime update comes less than a week after the shocking news that Supergirl had replaced its composer for the second time. Ramin Djawadi was originally hired to compose the score, having previously worked with Gillespie on his 2011 remake of Fright Night. However, in February 2026, Tom Holkenborg, a.k.a. Junkie XL, was tapped as his replacement, only for him to be replaced a month later by Saudie Sarne.
Supergirl will be the first of three projects set in the DCU that will be released in 2026, with the television series Lanterns and the R-rated body horror movie Clayface set to arrive in August and October, respectively. Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay for Supergirl, with Craig Gillespie serving as director.
Milly Alcock headlines Supergirl as its titular heroine, Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. The supporting cast includes Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll, Diarmaid Murtagh as Drom Baxton, and Matthias Schoenaerts as the movie’s main antagonist, Krem of the Yellow Hills.
Jason Momoa will also appear as Lobo, an alien mercenary and bounty hunter. Momoa previously played Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe. David Corenswet is also expected to reprise his role as Superman in a handful of scenes.
Supergirl is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
