I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe… We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring that to life. But I feel really strongly about it.

Tom Holland’s remarks land at an interesting moment for the franchise because Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already pushing Peter Parker into a new chapter, with the film set to release on July 31, 2026. In that context, the idea of Miles Morales feels less like a fan wish and more like a natural long-term possibility.
Miles has become one of Marvel’s most important modern characters. In the comics, he is a Brooklyn teenager who gains spider powers after a genetically altered spider bite, then grows into his own version of Spider-Man with a distinct identity, family dynamic, and point of view. That popularity has only grown through Sony’s Spider-Verse films, which helped turn Miles into a mainstream favorite.
Still, the live-action path is not simple.
